Animals and Plants

Here is a list of the different animals that live in the Gobi

Takhi (Equus przewalskii)

Takhi, also known as Przwalski’s horse, is the last wild horse breed in the world. It is a relative of common domestic horses found all around the globe. There are 1200 Takhi worldwide, and 60 in Mongolia.

Snow Leopard(Uncia uncia)
The high mountain ridges of the Gobi are the rare Snow Leopards home. They are the biggest in the cat
family. The Snow Leopard population is decreasing, probably because of poaching and hunting of their prey.
The number one threat to their population is human population growth as marmots, which snow leopards eat a lot, are being hunted for pelt, meat and oil.
Jerboa (Jaculus orientalis)
There are 11 species of Jerboas in the Gobi. They are nocturnal animals, meaning they are active at night.
Jerboas can jump up to 10 feet, and they use this to help them to escape predators where it is very open.
Their tail helps them keep balance. They sometimes walk with their back two feet, but they almost never use walk on all fours.

Asiatic Ibex (Capra sibirca)

They are wild mountain goats that live in rocky areas. Males grow slightly curved horns that can
can get longer than two feet. They have speacial hooves that make them great climbers.  Their threats
are poaching, and predators such as wolves and eagles.

Asiatic wild ass (Equus hemionus)

The Asiatic wild ass, aka Khulan, are the wild ancestor of the domestic donkey.
They can live in herds of up to 500 and run up to 65km/h.
Gobi Bear (Ursus arctos)
Gobi bears are one of the most endangered animals, with about 50 left.
They are disturbed by livestock and people, there is competition for food and water,
sometimes even killing others for it. They are also accidentally trapped and killed.
Bactrian camel (Camelus bactrianus)
They are one of the rarest and least studied animals, as there are less than 300 left.
They are the the last wild ancestors of the domestic bactrian camels.
Domesticated bactrian camels can carry 1000 pounds for 30 miles in the intense heat.
Gray Wolf (Canis lupus linnaeus)
The gray wolf lives throughout Mongolia, but there are fewer in the Gobi. The wolves’ diet includes wild camel,
ibex, hare, argali sheep, rodents, and khulan.
Gold eagle (Aquila chrysaetos)
They are the largest and most powerful raptor. Their main prey is the jerboa. Females can reach 13 pounds,
and are generally larger than males. Their average lifespan in the wild is 18 years.
Musk Oxen (Ovibos muschatus)
Musk oxen are protected from the cold by a thick undercoat, and long guard hairs, but when the weather
gets really cold, they huddle together protecting calves and cows in a formation called the phalanx. They also do this when they are threatened. During the summer, they shed their wool, which can be made into fine cloth. They are endangered due to excessive hunting and because their habitats are being destroyed by humans.
Plate-tailed Gecko (teratoscincus przewalskii)
These small animals are nocturnal. The males are territorial, and live in 3 foot deep holes where they are protected from the heat or cold. A female produces 2 clutches a year. A clutch can have up to 4 eggs.
Goitered Gazelle(Gazella subgutturosa)
Goitered gazelles live in sands and gravel plains. They can run at high speeds, but they don’t leap like other species. They undergo seasonal migrations. Herds can travel 10-30km in a day in the winter, but only 1-3km in the summer.
Marbled Polecat(Vormela peregusna)
Marbled polecats are normally found in dry areas and grasslands of Europe and western China.
They range from 29-35 in length. Marbled polecats are most active during the morning and the evening.
Their eyesight is weak, so they have to rely on their well-developed sense of smell.

Saxual (Haloxylon ammodendron)

This tree is almost leafless and grows between 6 and 12 feet high. Sometimes, many of them grow in one place, making what is called  a saxaul forest. They provide shelter for animals and firewood for people.

Batis( Batis maritima)

Batis are short shrubs, growing from 10-70 cm. It’s leaves are small, swollen, club-faced, and are bright green. Its flowers are small with nonshowy spikes. It flowers from mid summer to fall.
There are many different species of convolvulus. Some are problematic weeds, some are endangered and some are grown for their beautiful flowers.
Wild garlic(Allium vineale)
Allium vineale is a perennial bulb flower, native to Europe, north Africa and western Asia. The plant has a strong garlic odor. The main stem grows to 30-120 cm tall with 2-4 leaves. Leaves are tubes 15-60 cm long and 2-4 mm thick. Its flowers are 2-5mm long with 6 petals varying from pink to red or greenish white.
Most species of ephedra grow on shores and sandy soils in direct sunlight.
They can be used for medecinal purpose, such as treatment for asthma, hay fever and the common cold.

Throughout the great pattern of things you actually get an A with regard to effort and hard work. Where exactly you actually lost us was on all the details. As as the maxim goes, the devil is in the details… And that couldn’t be more accurate in this article. Having said that, let me say to you just what did do the job. Your article (parts of it) is definitely incredibly convincing which is most likely the reason why I am making the effort to opine. I do not really make it a regular habit of doing that. Secondly, although I can easily see a leaps in reasoning you come up with, I am not necessarily certain of just how you appear to unite the ideas which inturn make your final result. For now I will, no doubt subscribe to your point however wish in the foreseeable future you connect the dots much better.
